Personal Statement
People who enter counseling are looking for answers to their difficult life problems. I understand this need to find answers, and I have a direct yet compassionate style that seeks to maximize change as quickly as possible. I also understand the pain that many complex issues bring to clients and their families. I am sensitive to the nature of the healing process and attempt to encourage everyone that change is possible even in the most difficult situations.
I have seen marriages on the brink of divorce come back together; individuals with no hope discovering new possibilities; and families in crisis learning to interact in a more functional way. I have experienced success in breaking the addictive cycle when dealing with the root and underlying causes of many of today’s debilitating addictions and mental health issues. I believe in the importance of treating the whole person, including using faith, spirituality and humor as part of the healing process.
