Overview
A graduate of Smith College, Dr. Lynch received her medical degree from Rush University and completed her Psychiatric Residency and Fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry at the Yale University Medical School. She received the Laughlin Award in 1989 from the National Psychiatric Endowment Fund upon the recommendation of the Department of Psychiatry of Yale University in recognition of professional achievement, dedication and scholarship in the Graduate Education Program in Psychiatry. Dr. Lynch works with undergraduate and graduate students from universities in Evanston and Chicago. Prior to entering private practice, she was on the full time Staff of the Evanston Hospital, Department of Psychiatry where she served as Director of the Psychiatric Resident's In-patient Service. She has been a Clinical Instructor in Psychiatry at the Northwestern University Department of Psychiatry. She served on a Board of Trustees Committee at Smith College, advising the College President on issues related to student mental health. She has lectured at Smith College on psychological issues related to female physicians, at the Chicago Humanities Festival on the contemporary painter Lucian Freud, and at the Kellogg School of Business Student Lecture Series on issues related to young professionals.

Personal Statement
I focus treatment to best address the unique issues of each person. I treat depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, phobias, eating disorders (anorexia and bulimia), substance abuse, attention deficit disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, pre-menstrual disorder, and post-partum syndromes. I also treat other emotional concerns such as issues related to low self-esteem, careers, relationship and marital difficulties, and infertility. Therapy may be psychodynamic, goal oriented, cognitive-behavioral, brief, long-term, or intensive, depending on the needs of the person. I prescribe medications in combination with therapy when needed. In my work, I incorporate on-going advances in the fields of therapy and or biological psychiatry.
