Overview

Paul received his Master's degree from Loyola University in 1996. Prior to starting the Personal Development Group he worked in out-patient community mental health settings with the Counseling Center of Lake View and Uhlich Children's Advantage Network. He served in the capacity of therapist, clinical supervisor, team leader and program developer.

During this time he developed clinical skills working with individuals, couples, and families struggling with common mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, loss, and relationship issues. He also has worked extensively and developed trainings for treating victims of trauma, adults with anger/aggression issues and individuals with chronic mental illness.

For the last seven years he has built his private practice, The Personal Development Group. Here he continues to work with individuals, couples and families in the Chicago community to work through issues and establish happier and healthier lives.

Personal Statement

As an experienced therapist with a Master's degree from Loyola University Chicago, I understand how powerful psychotherapy can be in resolving issues such as anxiety, fear, depression, loss, anger, and relationship difficulties. In a relaxed, supportive environment, we can identify, address and work through the issues contributing to your discontent. During therapy, I will help you share difficult feelings and challenge counterproductive thoughts and behaviors. Following this process you can achieve a great sense of relief and develop the tools that foster healthier ways of living as well as improve your relationships.

I specialize in brief-solution focused therapy and long-term insight oriented therapy. In both modalities I integrate cognitive-behavioral approaches that provide skills you can readily use. I also emphasize the importance of diet, exercise, and a balanced lifestyle. My ideal clients are individuals and couples who are interested in learning about themselves and are committed to the therapeutic process.

My office is conveniently located in a vintage Old Town 3 Flat. The "L" Brown line Sedgewick stop is a half block from our front door. There's always free or metered parking available or it's a quick cab ride for appointments before/after work or during your lunch hour.
