Personal Statement
I believe that times of crisis can also be times of learning and personal development. I also believe that good psychotherapy helps put family and individual crises in the proper perspective, so that clients can begin to mobilize their own resources for healing and growth. This is true for adults and for children, regardless of their age.
My approach to psychotherapy is solution focused, but not simplistic. We are all practicing the "art of living," and it is challenging, especially in today's world of remote controls, instant gratifications, great demands on our time, and high expectations of self and others. I offer clients active support, as well as specific information (i.e. suggested reading), and have years of professional experience in helping clients cope with the most difficult challenges, including separation, loss, bereavement, and abuse.
I am a parent of two children myself, and understand very well the mighty challenges of parenting in both single and two parent families, and the extra challenges of parenting a difficult child.
I encourage internet readers to come in for a free consultation when they are ready, and to not postpone taking a look at what the current crisis or issue can mean in terms of opening up your future or your child's.
